Introductory Courses

Introductory courses in Geography introduce first- and second-year students to geographic thinking.

Introductory courses each fulfill at least two liberal education and writing intensive requirements. With the exception of Geog 1301, these courses do not count toward the BA or BS degrees in Geography.

Introductory courses include:

1301 Introduction to Human Geography (counts as a core course for RAD)
1403 Biogeography of the Global Garden
1425 The Atmosphere
1426 The Atmosphere Laboratory
1502 Maps, Visualization and Geographic Reasoning
1973 Geography of the Twin Cities
