Week 1 (9/5) - Class overview: requirements, expectations and such.

Week 2 (9/12) - Introduction to web application architectures.

Week 3 (9/19) - Introduction to the University of Minnesota MapServer.

Week 4 (9/26) - MapServer application development by example. We'll build a simple application from the ground up.

Week 5 (10/3) - Open GIS Consortium (OGC) interoperability standards such as WMS, WFS, WFS-T and WCS.

Week 6 (10/10) - Neogeography. "New Geography", bringing GIS and data to users and developers outside the realm of traditional geography.

Week 7 (10/17) - 3D web-based GIS and visualization: Google Earth, KML, Microsoft Virtual Earth, Second Life, etc...

Week 8 (10/24) - Class project presentations (in lieu of a final).
