Slide 4.
First Street, just west of 3rd Avenue looking toward downtown. Former industrial land used for parking. An old brick warehouse on right has been converted to an office building (Mill Place). The low black-roofed shed covers former loading platforms of the Milwaukee Road. The abandoned railroad station (brick building with clock tower) awaits demolition or re-use, delayed by soil and groundwater contamination below and uncertainty by investors and city officials. Green-roofed clock tower is the Minneapolis Court House. Behind it is the Hennepin County Government Center.
