Reconstructing Fire History in Southern and Central Minnesota

We are examining the fire history in oak savannas throughout southern and central Minnesota to better understand the dynamics of oak regeneration.  The results of this study will help land managers at The Nature Conservancy and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources preserve and restore remnants of oak savanna along the prairie-forest border.
